Cannes Diaries: Where I Went, What I Ate & my Holiday Outfits

Helloooooo! Hope everyone reading this is doing well.

So, firstly - I'm writing this blog post on the 1st of September, and can we just pause for one second? How on EARTH has Summer just whizzed past and were already in September? Anyone else thinking the same thing, or is it just me?

I absolutely adored this Summer, and have honestly had some really lovely, adventurous and memorable memories. I was lucky enough to go and visit my family in crazy America, party all day and all night long at Glastonbury and just to finish it off, I went to the South of France with my wonderful family and friends.

Speaking of South of France, I wanted to dedicate this blog post to my 'Cannes Diaries' - where I tell you all about what I got up too, where I visited, the food I ate and what I wore. I love sharing my recommendations and I tend to find out a lot of recommendations on places to go and visit from my favourite bloggers. SO, I thought I would do the same and share with you some of my highlights from the holiday.

AQUA TREKKING:

My absolute top highlight from the holiday has to be aqua trekking. Some of you might be asking me, what the hell is aqua trekking? Honestly, I had no idea before I even went. But, for those of you reading this that are adrenaline junkies like me, you NEED to do it. We drove up to the mountains (pre-booked in advance), and we basically meandered our way through the river and rapids within the mountains. EPIC. It consisted of some rock climbing, some swimming and going through the crazy rapids (I even lost my shoe half way through the journey because of them, it was interesting as you can imagine...) and jumping off rocks and cliffs, from pretty high up. And I'm talking high. Kinda scary, kinda could of died but so worth it. Highly recommend!

THE VILLA:

I have to give some credit to the insane villa we stayed in in Grasse. Just on the outskirts of Cannes, it's more in-land than by the coast - but we could see the sea from our balcony! It was absolutely stunning. Hot tub on the top deck, swimming pool and crazy views which I definitely could of got used to having my breakfast on every morning. Absolutely dreamy. We found it on Air BnB for those wondering!

GRASSE:

So, as previously mentioned above we stayed in a town called Grasse. One evening we walked into the old town and had an explore. Grasse is apparently the 'perfume capital' of the world too, so there was plenty of local perfume shops you could wonder into - I sneezed so much (hah). It's an lovely old town, there's a cathedral there, loads of art, plenty of restaurants and places to grab a cocktail and a crepe! French crepes have to be THE best?! It was very picturesque and they had a tonne of pink umbrella's hanging through all the small lanes. We ended up going to an Italian which was so good. You just can't go wrong with a pizza.

VILLE FRANCHE:

Another place that we explored and I adored has to be Ville Franche. We went there for my younger sister's birthday in the late afternoon to evening, so great for a day out. It's an old seaside town just near Nice. Again, the views are immaculate and you can have a wonder through the town, pop into a few quaint shops and have dinner just by the harbour. We went to a fine dining restaurant, and oh my god. The food was delicious. Expensive, but delicious! The way the other half live (lol). The restaurant we went to was called 'La Mere Germaine' and they are a family-owned restaurant that specialise in seafood specifically. So of any of you seafood lovers, go!

And there we have it! My recommendations and highlights from my trip to South of France. I absolutely loved it, it was so relaxing, the weather was stunning and we visited some great places and old towns. I reckon I'll have to go back again soon and do a bit more exploring. If you also have any recommendations if you've been - be sure to comment below!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and I'll see you on another one very soon.

Love,
